Founding Member
Nasima Khan belongs to a well-known Pathan family from Darra Shub Kadir in the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan, she completed her early education in Charat and then the family moved to further her studies in Peshawar. Nasima’s college education was completed in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She has been an inspiration to the Pashtun Cultural Institute and she serves as a Founding member of the family. In its years, Pashtun Cultural Institute hosted many programs for the New York region local community and has been actively involved with the Asia Society in New York promoting the great Pashtun diverse history. As an Institute member, she has represented many forums and has been an advocate for the Pashtun women in the US and beyond. She has conducted numerous interviews with Voice of America, and local ABC and NBC Channels in New York during the tense moments of US-Pakistan relationship in the recent years.
She has taken on a mission to serve the many deserving families that have no formal education in the KPK Province. Beginning in 2014, PCI will be offering a vocational training program for the families in Pakistan. Nasima has been a resource assisting needy children in 20 families in Pakistan in the areas of education, housing, and family life. She was the first women from the ethnic Asian community to become a Sales Manager for the Mary Kay Cosmetics Company and was awarded a Red Car in the early 2000. Currently, she provides marriage-consulting services for many deserving family in the North America, Europe, and Pakistan.
